While this particular trail won't have the views of the
Bowl Trail, its easier inclines, more gradual descents, and generally forested terrain still make it a nice option either as an alternate route or for making a different loop of off the
Tejas Trail.
Starting from the
Tejas Trail, the trail heads east and north briefly before turning south to roughly parallel the
Tejas Trail for the first mile. This initial mile is easygoing with a gentle climb, but nothing too strenuous.
The second half of the trail turns to the east to head toward the
Bowl Trail. This climb gets a bit more noticeable at this point and continues for the next 0.5 miles before leveling off and descending gently to a junction with the
Bowl Trail near its northernmost point.
Ponderosa pine.
