Description

This is the official, as of December 2017, access point for the Honeybee Trail System. Use other access points at your discretion, but this is the legitimate trailhead. A large parking area has been cleared, and over the next few years, it's scheduled to be paved, have bathrooms installed, and more. The first 1.3 miles of this connector was recently built by SDMB and crosses in and out of the Big Wash so it's fairly sandy. Over time, and with some rain, this hopefully will pack down to make it a bit more fun.

At the 1.3 mile mark, you'll come to a gate on your left-hand side that denotes the State Trust Land boundary. Enter through this gate and continue on the trail. Before too long, you'll see another gate straight in front of you. Do NOT go through this second gate and instead bear just to the left, following the singletrack trail. This next section of the trail also hops in and out of washes, so it can be sandy in spots, but it's a bit better than the first stretch. Right about 2.25 miles from the trailhead the trail will come to a "T". This is the older "church access" connector trail, also known as Frank's. Take a left at this "T" to continue on up the trail for another 1.9 miles to reach the main Honeybee Loop.
